Audience Response Systems

Poll Everywhere (http://www.polleverywhere.com/) is a simple online voting application that works well for live audiences using their tablet, laptop, or mobile devices like phones. Students can respond by visiting a mobile-friendly web page, sending text messages, or using Twitter. The poll that is embedded within the presentation (PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides) or web page will update in real time as the students respond with their answers. There would be no cost to the student for Poll Everywhere if they already had text messaging on their phone or was able to use a laptop, tablet, or the Web browser on a smart phone.

Faculty who wish to use this audience response system in their class should contact Kevin Abbott at (574) 631-8707 (kabbott@nd.edu) or stop by his office in room 350 DeBartolo Hall for a demonstration. Kevin works closely with members of the Kaneb Center for Teaching and Learning to advise faculty on proven practices for integrating technology with pedagogy.
