Mac OS X & CorporateSync

  1. Download and Install Oracle Calendar Sync.
    • Make certain that you have Palm Desktop 4.0 or greater installed on your computer.
    • Download the Mac OS X PalmSync installer HERE.
    • Launch the installer by double-clicking the downloaded file.
    • Click Next at the Welcome Screen.
    • Accept the default installation location by clicking Next.
  2. After installation, Open Palm Desktop and go to HotSync > Install
    Handheld File
and click on "Add To List."
  3. Browse to Applications > Palm > Add-on and double-click on the file:
    Oracle Calendar Sync.prc
  4. Quit Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager and perform HotSync from the
    handheld.
  5. Now, open the Macintosh Hard Drive and go to: Library > Application Data
    > Palm HotSync
  6. Move the Oracle Calendar Address Conduit from the "Conduits" folder to
    the "Disabled Conduits" folder.
  7. Move the Address Conduit from the "Disabled Conduits" folder to the
    "Conduits" folder.
  8. On the Handheld, open the application called "Configure Oracle Calendar"
    and add the following:
    • User: <Your CTime Username>
    • Password: <YourPassword>
    • Server: corporatetime.nd.edu
    • Node: production
  9. Tap OK.
  10. Now perform another HotSync. The CorporateTime events should synch to
    your handheld.

Note: By default, the conduit is configured to sync only from one week in
past to one week in future. User can change this by opening the Configure
    Oracle Calndar
application on the Palm and choosing Preferences from the
    menu pulldown.

Avoiding problems when using Oracle Calendar Sync

The following items are known to create problems for PalmPilot users.

  • Do not create and modify repeating entries using your PalmPilot. Repeating Events created with the PalmPilot cannot be synchronized with Oracle Calendar/CorporateTime; however, repeating Entries created with Oracle Calendar/CorporateTime can be properly synchronized with the PalmPilot.
  • Only synchronize the PalmPilot with your on-line Agenda. Synchronizing with the off-line Agenda can (and usually does) cause duplicate entries.
