Classroom Laptop Checkout Program is currently unavailable...
To meet the needs of those who teach Registrar-scheduled accredited courses, the Office of Information Technologies (OIT) has a limited number of Macintosh laptop computers (and a few PC laptops) that may be checked out for use in place of the classroom lectern computers. (See for more information about the technology installed in specific classrooms.)

Students who require the use of a laptop for teaching or presenting in class must check out a laptop through a member of the faculty.
Are reservations needed?
Laptop loans are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance reservations are highly recommended. To reserve a laptop for a particular date and time, call our Classroom Service Center at 1-9181.
Computers may be reserved for use in a class for an entire semester; however, they still must be checked out each day and returned before the close of business that same day. (See .) You will not necessarily get the same machine each time you check one out.
How do you borrow a laptop?
. To expedite check-out, once a semester, those who wish to borrow a
laptop should submit a .
. Once your application with current contact information is on file, you
will just have to show your University ID and initial a check-out card
each time you borrow a laptop.
. Due to the limited number of machines available, laptops cannot be checked
out and kept for an entire semester.
Are there charges for this service?
There are no charges for faculty laptop check-outs as part of an accredited course.
There is no charge for a visiting professor giving an academic presentation.
However,
a University employee/department must sponsor that presentation and accept
full responsibility for the loan transaction.
What software comes with a laptop?
These laptops have the same software and configuration as the computers in the OIT .
The laptops will be restored regularly to return the system configuration back to its original state and remove extraneous files. Please do not leave copies of needed files on these computers. We cannot accept responsibility for lost files.
