To setup Entourage 2004 to work with the Notre Dame Directory Service:
- In Entourage, go to the Tools menu and select Accounts > Directory Service > New.
- Use the following settings:
- Account Name: ND Directory
- LDAP Server: directory.nd.edu
- Select the Options tab. For the search base, enter:
o="University of Notre Dame",st=Indiana,c=US - Close the Accounts dialog.
- Next, from the Entourage menu, select Preferences > Mail & News Preferences > Compose.
- Place a check in the box for Automatically check names when sending messages.
- Close the Preferences dialog.
After establishing these settings, when typing an e-mail address the ND Directory will be searched. Often a first initial, followed by an asterisk "*" and a space and then the first few letters of a last name will be enough to retrieve a person's complete email address in a menu.
