Setup Windows Eudora v. 6 for POP Email
Please note: Qualcomm has stopped development and significantly limited support for Eudora.
NOTE: In order to ensure that Eudora is setup for SSL and SMTP Authentication, you MUST follow these instructions EXACTLY!
Before beginning, be sure you have downloaded the Notre Dame licensed version of Eudora HERE.
- Go to Tools menu and select Options.

- Make sure that the Getting Started category is selected in the column on the left.
- In the Real name: field, type your name as you would like it to appear in the header of messages you send (e.g., Anne Smith).
- In the Return address: field, type your email address (e.g., asmith@nd.edu).
- In the Mail Server (Incoming): field, type: pop.nd.edu
- In the Login Name: field, type your NetID (e.g., asmith).
- Do NOT change the SMTP Server (Outgoing): field.
- Select the Incoming Mail category is selected in the column
on the left.

- Next to the Server Configuration: option, select POP.
- Do NOT change any of the other options.
- Click OK. Eudora is now configured to check and send email for your Notre Dame email account.
Eudora is already configured to work with the ND Directory Services.
