What Do I Do If I Get Harrassing Emails?

Email harrassment is different than just receiving spam.  Spam is a message that you did not request but is not directed to you personally.  Harrassing email messages on the other hand are directed at you personally.  Here is how to handle harrassing email messages:

  1. Keep the original harrassing email message.
  2. Report the incident to Notre Dame Security/Police.

Notre Dame Security will work with OIT to take any technological steps necessary, however email harrassment is really the same thing as someone harrassing you in person, so it is important to report it to the proper authorities.
