Personalized Email Aliases
For Faculty & Staff ONLY
When your email account is created, three unique email aliases are created for your use. All three will work and will deliver messages to the same inbox. The three automatically generated unique email aliases are in the following forms:
- netid@nd.edu
- FirstName.MI.LastName.#@nd.edu
- LastName.#@nd.edu
Notre Dame faculty and staff have the ability to create a personalized email alias if they do not like the default three aliases automatically created by the system.
A Few of the Guidelines for Creating a Personalized Email Alias
- The new alias must be 9 or more characters OR must use an underscore ( _ ) OR must use a period ( . )
- The new alias must end with @nd.edu
- The new alias must not contain a space
- The new alias must not match the patterns used for automatically generated email aliases
