Windows Mail POP Account Setup Instructions

Students: If you need to configure Windows Mail for your ND Gmail account, please visit: oit.nd.edu/google/imap_pop.shtml.

1. Open up Windows Mail and go to Tools > Accounts
2. Select your ND mail account click Properties
3. Click on the Servers tab.
   
   Server information is as follows…
   • My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
   • Incoming mail (IMAP): pop.nd.edu
   • Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.nd.edu
   Incoming Server Information is as follows…
   • E-mail username: (your netid)
   • Password: (your password)
   • You may choose to check mark the box to Remember password.
   Outgoing Mail Server
   • Check the box for My server requires authentication.
   • Click on the Advanced Tab.
     
     Server Port Numbers information is as follows…
     • Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
     • Check mark the box for This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
     • Incoming mail (IMAP): 995
     • Check mark the box for This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
     • Click Apply then OK.
