Changing the Default Address List in Outlook

Sometimes the default address list in Outlook will show up as something other than Global Address List (e.g., Equipment). Many people find that “Equipment List” is their default address list. Follow these instructions to change your default address book.

  1. In Outlook, go to Tools > Address Book.

  2. In the Address Book window, choose Tools > Options.

  3. In the Addressing Window, in the “Show Address List” pull down menu, choose the address list you would like as the default. It is recommended that you choose “Global Address List” as your default address book.
