Configure Outlook 2007 for Notre Dame Exchange Email
Students: If you need to configure Outlook for your ND Gmail account, please visit: oit.nd.edu/google/imap_pop.shtml.
If you are already an Outlook 2007 user, we highly suggest backing up your Outlook 2007 information before configuring Outlook to access Notre Dame Exchange. After backing up your information, proceed with the instructions below.
Make sure you have completely closed Outlook before beginning these steps!
1) Open your Control Panel and make sure you are in the Classic View.
2) Double-click the Mail icon to start the process.

3) Click the Email Accounts button to open the Account Settings and click the New button to add the account.

4) Enter your your name as you wish it to appear (e.g., Anne Smith), your email address (e.g., asmith@nd.edu) and then enter and confirm your password. Click Next.

5) Outlook will take several seconds to retrieve the settings and log on to the server. (This will only work if Outlook is completely closed.)
6) Enter your User name in the format netid@nd.edu (e.g., asmith@nd.edu) and enter your password. Click OK.
7) Click Finish when this is complete and click OK to the explanation of the Mail Delivery Location.

Note: The calendar information referenced in the Mail Delivery Location dialog IS NOT CorporateTime calendar information.
8) With the new account selected, click the Change button.

9) Go to More Settings > Connections > Exchange Proxy Settings.
10) Check the box that reads, "On fast networks, connect using HTTP first…." Do not change any other settings. Click OK on the Microsoft Exchange Proxy Settings dialog.

11) Click OK on the settings dialog then click Next and Finish. Close the Account Settings dialog.

Now, when you login to your email in Outlook, you will need to sign in with your username as netid@nd.edu (e.g., asmith@nd.edu) and your Notre Dame password.
You should now be able to access your Notre Dame email on Exchange.
You may also want to configure the Notre Dame directory service so that you can search for email addresses and contact information for anyone at the University.

- Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP), then Next.
- Under Server Information, type in the Server Name: directory.nd.edu
- Click on More Settings > Search. Under Search Base, choose Custom and then type the following: dc=nd,dc=edu
