UPDATE ON MANAGING RESOURCES
We know many of your are anxious to start managing your resources more closely. We are finalizing the information you need now, and information will be available by early next week. One of the new features you can look forward to is the ability to allow some people to automatically schedule a resource, while requiring others to request approval before scheduling the resource.

BEWARE OF A NEW PHISHING SCAM
A new, very convincing phishing scam message may have arrived in your inbox within the last day. The subject of this message is "Please, Secure Your Account Immediately." The link provided in this phishing scam takes you to a page that looks almost exactly like the Notre Dame webmail page at webmail.nd.edu, but that is NOT the Notre Dame webmail page. Please do not click any of the links in that message, and do NOT supply them with your NetID and password.

SETTING UP PDAS & SMARTPHONES
If you have a PDA or smartphone that you'd like to setup to get your Exchange email, calendar, and contacts, we've provided instructions for you at http://oit.nd.edu/exchange/smartphone_setup.shtml. We provide support for most of the major phone and PDA devices, including iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, and Palm.

SETTING UP DELEGATES IN OUTLOOK
As you are configuring delegates to your calendar in Outlook, you may run into an issue where you can only search things other than the Global Address List. This can happen due to a caching problem. To get the ability to search for people again, you need to recreate the cache for the Global Address List. To do this, go to the Tools menu > Send and Receive... > Download Address Book. Then from the Address Book section, choose to download the \Global Address List from the drop-down menu, and click OK. This may take a few minutes. You should not have to do this very often since it usually happens automatically, but occasionally, it may be necessary to force it to refresh.

QUESTIONS?
Many questions can be answered by reviewing the information found on the OIT Exchange web site at http://oit.nd.edu/exchange. The OIT has also created Quick Reference Guides that will walk you through these types of questions, as well as many other common calendaring functions. Quick reference guides are available for Outlook 2007, Outlook 2003, Entourage 2008, OWA with IE, and OWA with other web browsers, and you can find them all at: http://oit.nd.edu/exchange/training.shtml#qrg

Don't forget! You can still register for hands-on training by visiting http://endeavor.nd.edu. Courses are available for Outlook and Entourage, as well as for people who act as a delegate for others or those who do not. Information how how to register for classes can be found at http://hr.nd.edu/prodevelopment/Endeavor.shtml If you have questions about training, please contact training@nd.edu or call 1-7227.

If you need further assistance, please contact your departmental IT support staff or the OIT Help Desk at 574-631-8111 or oithelp@nd.edu.
