Migrating Messages

Before you begin, make sure Outlook is configured to have Personal Folder (local mail folders). If the folder liost does not include a heading of Personal Folders, refer to documentation to create a Personal Folders file (.PST).

  1. Each time you launch Transend Migrator, you’ll be presented with a dialog reminding you of the terms of the license. Click OK.

  2. When asked what you want to convert, choose Message Folders. Then click the Options... button.Transend
  3. In the Program Options dialog, select the Outlook/Exchange tab. Then check the boxes for:
    - Folder Capitalization (/D5)
    - Create Empty Folders (/CREMPTY)
    - Create Outlook 2003 Format PST (/NEWPST)

  4. Use the arrows on the far right to move tabs and select the Eudora tab.
    - Check the box for /ATTAHCDIR.
    - Browse to the user attachment folder (usually: c:\program files\qualcomm\eudora\attach)

  5. Back in the main Transend window, make sure Message Folders is still selected and click Next.

  6. Choose the Convert From: format from which you are converting and select Exchange/Outlook for the Convert To: format. Click Next.

  7. You will need to browse to the mail directory. In the case of Eudora, it is located in C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\Eudora. Click Next.

  8. Next, you will need to browse to the Outlook.pst file.

  9. Select the folders you wish to convert and click Next.

  10. It should not be necessary to make any adjustments to the Miscellaneous Options (this also may change in Exchange). Click Start.

  11. You will receive a report of how many folders, messages, and attachments were migrated.

Migrating Addresses

Before you begin, make sure Outlook is configured to have Personal Folder (local mail folders). If the folder list does not include a heading of Personal Folders, refer to documentation to create a Personal Folders file (.PST).

  1. When asked what you want to convert, slect Address Books and click Next.

  2. Choose the Convert From: format from which you are converting and select Exchange/Outlook for the Convert To: format. Click Next.

  3. You will need to browse to address book file. In Eudora, this is usually located in the path shown in the picture below.

  4. Now, browse to your Oulook .PST file and enter the Contact Folder into which to migrate the contacts. By default, you should enter Contacts. Click Start.

  5. In information window will appear showing how many addresses were converted.
