ND Gmail & Email Frequently Asked Questions

I'm migrating my old email to ND Gmail and migration has stopped or I'm getting an error that my account is locked. What's going on?

To make sure people are not mis-using the email service, Google sometimes flags accounts that have heavy usage. To unlock your account, just visit http://www.google.com/a/nd.edu/UnlockCaptcha. Submit the information in that form, and migration should continue. Once your mail has fully migrated into ND Gmail, you should not experience this error any more.

My email in Webmail disappeared! What happened???

If you setup ND Gmail to migrate your old mail over, your mail will no longer be in Webmail. You will need to access ALL of your email through gmail.nd.edu now. If you do not see your messages in the Gmail Inbox, try checking Gmail All Mail.

What is Gmail?

Gmail is the Notre Dame Google-powered e-mail service for students. The service offers over 6.5GB of storage for each account.

Will my email address change when we move to Google Apps?

No. Your Notre Dame email address will remain the same!
