Get Help After Hours

Non-Emergency Issues

During the fall and spring semesters, when classes are in session, the Help Desk maintains phone support hours during the evenings and on Sunday.

All students, faculty, and staff who have questions outside of OIT Help Desk hours may:

  • Leave a voice mail message describing your problem at 574-631-8111.
  • Email a description of your problem to oithelp@nd.edu.
  • Log your problem on the web at assyst.nd.edu.
  • Visit the OIT Help Desk Vendor Information page for technical information on common commercial products.

The Help Desk will respond to cases submitted via the Web, email, or voice mail as soon as possible the next business day. If the Help Desk cannot resolve your question, the staff will dispatch the case to the appropriate OIT group for resolution. Please note, other OIT groups do not necessarily have the same hours as the Help Desk, but have committed to a response within two business days. If you are affected by an unscheduled outage of an OIT-provided service, OIT staff will be contacted to begin the process of emergency diagnosis and repair of the service.

Emergency Issues

If an OIT service experiences an outage outside OIT Help Desk hours, please call 574-631-5603. OIT staff will be able to determine if an outage exists and report it to the appropriate OIT technologists for repair. Questions regarding applications will not be answered or logged by individuals at this phone number.
