Internet Explorer 7
Microsoft released a new version of Internet Explorer in late 2006. Some administrative applications were not fully supported for IE 7, so some users may have chosen to block the automatic update to the new version. With an upgrade of administrative applications that was completed on Oct. 8, 2007, full support of IE 7 can now be provided by the OIT and our vendors.
If you have previously installed the utility which blocked the update for IE 7, you can manually install the upgrade now from Microsoft. Alternatively, you can turn off the previously installed block by:
- Select the Start menu
- Select Run and type CMD and press the Return key
- In the window that appears enter the text:
IE70Blocker.cmd /U - Press the Return key
- If your computer is configured for automatic updates, IE 7 will be installed at the next scheduled update period.
If you have any additional questions, please contact your departmental IT support staff or the OIT Help Desk at 574-631-8111.
