IT Basics at ND for Students

Author: Lenette Votava

The Office of Information Technologies (OIT) is the central division that supports technology on campus. It develops innovative solutions and provides reliable services in support of Notre Dame's students, faculty and staff. These include products and services that you will use every day to complete tasks related to your studies or jobs.

The purpose of the IT Basics training is to introduce you to several important OIT services. You can take action on some services before you get to campus, while others are meant to be informational so you know what is available to you when you arrive. We want to make sure you are aware of the variety of technology tools to ensure your successful academic career at Notre Dame.

The IT Basics training is located in Sakai, the learning management system at Notre Dame. To access the training, just login to Sakai at sakai.nd.edu, using your Notre Dame netID and password, and locate the IT Basics at Notre Dame module. For details on locating this course and others, go to: http://ntrda.me/sakaisites.

There are 8 different categories of services and resources. Just click on each category to get started. You’ll find a question to answer at the end of each section, and will be required to answer the question before moving on to the next section. The whole module should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.

We hope you find the training helpful as you begin your journey as a new student. Welcome to the Notre Dame!
