Registering your Pocket PC
- Enable Wireless Connection by clicking on Start, IPAQ Wireless Connection.
First, click on the Bluetooth icon to enable it.
- Select the WLAN to enable.
- Once you have enabled your wireless connection you will need to select
a New Network Detected for the NOMAD. Click on The Internet and select
Connect.
- Click on Start, Internet Explorer, and then the http://ncr.nd.edu
will appear on the browser. Next click on Register Your Computer,
then type in your NETID and Password, click on OK.
- Read over the Responsible Use Policy of Information Technologies
at Notre Dame, and then accept the policy at the bottom
of the page.
- View the necessary information and verify that everything is correct.
Then select the correct domain for registering your Pocket PC.
- Finally, click on return and do a hard reset on the
Pocket PC.
(Warning: When doing a hard reset on the device, it will result in lost
of programs and data. The reset will go back to the factory default
settings. It’s suggested that if there is any necessary data on
your Pocket PC you should do a backup to your computer. After you have
removed the handheld from the cradle make sure you delete the partnership
before placing the Pocket PC back into the cradle. You can delete partnership
by clicking on the Microsoft Active Sync, File, and Delete Partnership.
Because of the hard reset of the handheld, it needs a new partnership
installed on the device. )
