New Faculty

5 Steps To Getting Started

1. Set Up Your NetID and Password

Your University NetID is the key to most technology resources on campus, including email, campus networks, shared file systems, the Concourse course management system, and the insideND portal. To set up your NetID and password, visit the NetID activation page.

2. Access Your Email and Calendar

Notre Dame provides all faculty and staff with email and calendaring services through Google. You can access Google Mail at gmail.nd.edu and find additional information on Gmail and Calendar here.

For additional information on Google, please visit the Going Google website.

3. Connect to the ND Network

You'll want to connect your computers, phones, and other devices to either the campus wired network or our ND-Secure wireless network. If you're trying to connect an entertainment system or another device without a Web browser, there are special steps for those devices that you should follow.

4. Prepare to Teach in a Technology Classroom

We equip most Registrar-scheduled classrooms with a suite of technology services. To get you started, we've prepared a series of instructional videos on ND's classroom technology.

5. Manage Your Classes Online

The Sakai collaborative learning environment provides tools to structure and manage your classes and interact with your students online. You may also wish to use course mailing lists to communicate with students in your classes.
