New Students

5 Steps To Getting Started

1. Set Up Your NetID and Password

Your University NetID is the key to most technology resources on campus, including email, campus networks, shared file systems, and the insideND portal. To set up your NetID and password, visit the NetID activation page.

2. Access Your Student Email and Calendar

Notre Dame provides all students with access to the Google Apps suite, including an nd.edu Gmail account. You can log in to your account with your NetID and password at ND Gmail. If you need help, you can find a wide variety of Google Apps Support.

3. Connect to the ND Network

You'll want to get  your computers, phones, and other devices connected to either the campus wired network or our ND-Secure wireless network. If you're trying to connect an entertainment system or gaming device, there are special steps for those devices that you should follow.

4. Configure Printing on Your Computer

The OIT provides all students with a quota of free printing as part of your campus technology fee. Be sure to set up your computer to use the PrintND service to print in a residence hall or any OIT computer lab.

5. Purchase a Computer

The Notre Dame Computer Store provides discounts on purchases of Apple, Dell, and Lenovo products.
