Scheduled Removal of PH/CSO Directory Service

04/20/2005

In a continuing effort to protect personal information of University employees and students, the CSO/PH directory will no longer be available for public use, after Sunday, May 15, 2005. Starting Monday, May 16, users will need to use the LDAP and/or Enterprise Directory Service (EDS) for their online directory needs.

This change may affect your ability to find Notre Dame email addresses within your email client. If you have installed updates for your email client following OIT instructions in the past 6 months, you probably are already utilizing LDAP and do not need to change anything. If you’re not certain when you last updated your email software, instructions for setting up LDAP for supported email clients are available at http://oit.nd.edu/email/email_directory_setup.shtml. You can also update your email client from http://oit.nd.edu/email/setup.shtml. (Note: Webmail already uses LDAP and will not be impacted by this change.)

Additionally you can use the Enterprise Directory Service (EDS) http://www.nd.edu/directories or http://eds.nd.edu/ to find needed directory information.

If you have additional questions or need assistance, please contact your departmental IT support staff or the OIT Help Desk at 574-631-8111.
