Spam Quarantine Summary Adjustment

On Monday, 9/19/05, a Spam quarantine system was implemented for all campus email and a summary list of the collected email was distributed to individuals at about 6:00 AM today (see announcement at http://oit.nd.edu/news/spam_09_19_05.shtml).  Although the system is expected to accommodate usage much higher than ours, this morning we experienced an unexpectedly heavy load on the quarantine server which caused some delays in access.  We are working with the vendor of the system to resolve this issue.

In the interim, to help in balancing the load over different times of the day, we will be modifying the system to send the summary message at about 6:00 PM each day.  You will still be able to login to the Spam quarantine system at any time you choose, but the list of quarantined email will be sent at 6:00 PM each evening.

To access your quarantine inbox or to modify your personal preferences, you can login to the system by visiting either https://granger2.cc.nd.edu OR https://granger1.cc.nd.edu.

Additional information about this new service can be viewed at http://oit.nd.edu/email/stopspam.shtml.  For further assistance, contact your departmental IT support or the OIT Help Desk (574-631-8111).
