Battery Recall For Some Dell Laptop Computers

Dell Computer has recently announced a recall of some batteries which have been shipped with their laptop computers.  Under rare conditions, it is possible for these batteries to overheat, which could pose a risk of fire. Since, the systems are not sold by the Computer Store; the OIT does not have any way of knowing who purchased which system from Dell. According to Dell, the OIT Service Department will not be able to order these batteries through the normal warranty parts replacement process. The conditions of the recall require you to contact Dell directly to receive a replacement.
