Don't fall victim to the newest phishing scam

Yet another phishing scam arrived in many people's inboxes this weekend.  This particular phishing scam looks very legitimate, claiming to be from the IT department at Notre Dame and even listing the Notre Dame zip code.  The subject line of this particular phishing message is "PLEASE, SECURE YOUR ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY" and the link it asks you to click takes you to a page that looks EXACTLY like the legacy Notre Dame Webmail login page.

DO NOT enter your NetID and password into the page at the link provided in that email.

Phishing scammers continue to make their email messages and web pages look more and more convincing.  Remember - Notre Dame will NEVER request this information from you via e-mail.  It is imperative that you do not reply with any sensitive information. If you think a request for your personal information might be legitimate, contact the department or institution, using its officially published phone number (either found in the phone book or by searching for its website online). Never use the contact information found in an e-mail that asks for sensitive information, or click on any links found in the message.

If you have additional questions, please contact your departmental IT support or the OIT Help Desk (574-631-8111).
