About the Phish Bowl
The Phish Bowl (oit.nd.edu/phish-bowl) was created as the one spot to check for a phish. If you receive or are unsure about a message, check the Phish Bowl for the latest alerts. If it's there, no need to report it. If not, forward it to firstname.lastname@example.org. It will be added so others are aware of it.
This simple process provides one place to check, and one email address to contact, making everyone's life a little less confusing and a bit easier. And safer. Here are the basics:
- If you received a suspicious email, particularly one from an @nd.edu email address, check the Phish Bowl. If you do not see it in the Phish Bowl, please forward it to oithelp.nd.edu.
- If you received the same email but from a different ND address than shown, please forward it to us so that we can attend to the new compromise.
- If you received one already posted, report it as phishing to the Gmail team (from within the message, click on the down arrow to the right of the REPLY button and select "Report phishing") or simply delete it.
- Please note that the Phish Bowl is actively monitored and updated during regular business hours and periodically at other times.
