Secure?Secure Printing on Xerox Printers

As part of the University’s ongoing efforts to improve information security on campus, OIT, in conjunction with Xerox, is asking users to use the following configurations to print to Xerox printers on campus.  Configuring your print settings using the instructions below helps to protect data processed on these units from unauthorized disclosure. 

Please note: secure printing information is only available for Windows computers at this time.

  1. Confirm Your Printer Driver Configuration - Ensure that you have configured your connection to a Xerox printer correctly. Assistance in properly configuring your printers may be obtained from your departmental IT support or the OIT Help Desk at 574-631-8111.
  2. Secure Print Setting - Use the Xerox Secure Print feature (only available on Document Centre and WorkCentre Pro units).  This function allows users to provide a PIN that must be entered at the unit before printing begins.  This reduces the possibility of others viewing confidential print jobs that sit unattended on the printer.  Please note that Secure Print is only available on Windows systems at this time.  Questions on using this feature should be directed to your departmental IT support or the OIT Help Desk at 574-631-8111.
  3. Printing from Off Campus - If you need to print to on-campus Xerox printers, you will need to first connect to the campus VPN.  Instructions for the campus VPN are available at https://oit.nd.edu/security/vpn/.
