Computer Rental

The ND Computer Store offers rental computers to Notre Dame faculty, staff and students. These rental units can help you remain productive when your computer is being repaired, when you need a laptop for a trip, or when you need to study in a remote location. We have a variety of Windows and Mac laptops available for rent. Configurations may vary, so please provide hardware and software needs when you make your reservation.

Laptops Available

Windows Configuration

A variety of laptops that all have similar configurations including Intel processors, writable optical drives, wireless connectivity, and the Windows Operating System. Laptops will include a laptop sleeve and AC adapter. Other accessories may be available upon request. All Windows laptops include the Microsoft Office Suite.

Macintosh Configuration

A variety of Mac laptops that all have similar configurations including Intel processors, writable optical drives, AirPort wireless connectivity, and Mac OS X 10.5 or higher. Laptops will include a laptop sleeve and AC adapter. All Mac laptops include the Microsoft Office Suite.

Rental Rates

$10.00 per day (for rentals of 2 calendar days or less)

$7.00 per day (for rentals of 3 calendar days or more)

$49.00 per calendar week

$150.00 per month (30 calendar days; $5 per additional calendar day)

The ND Computer Store accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Departmental FOAPAL Accounts, ND ProCards, and Domer Dollars for rental computers. We cannot bill Student Accounts.

Terms & Conditions

Title to the rented equipment is owned by the University of Notre Dame. Any damages occurring to equipment while in the possession of the renter are the responsibility of the renter. No warranty is implied for hardware, software, or accessories rented. All rental equipment is inspected when checked out, and again upon check-in. Any damages will be assessed at the time of check-in unless hidden damage is found upon further inspection. Outstanding charges due for rental fees or hardware/software repair may be applied to a Student Account if applicable. No warranty is expressed or implied with regard to the safety of data entered and/or saved on rental equipment. The renter's data is their responsibility, and the University of Notre Dame cannot be held responsible for any loss of information by the renter. All data will be erased upon return of a rental unit. The University is not responsible for use charges incurred by renter while using a dial-up or internet–based service. Checking out a rental unit verifies understanding and acceptance of these terms on the part of the renter. These rental conditions are accepted regardless of rental period paid for or provided at no charge. A signed rental agreement form is required and must be completed at the time of pick-up.
