AFS Quotas

As of Friday, April 27, 2007, the following quotas for AFS file space are the default for all newly created accounts.

Faculty/Staff: 1 MB

Students:  1 MB

Departmental: 1 MB

Quota usage information for AFS is displayed near the top of the page when you view the contents of your AFS home folder in WebFile.

Default AFS quotas are set very low as a majority of Windows and Mac users on campus will find that NetFile is better suited to their needs. Unix and Linux users who need to increase their AFS space may request a quota increase online. Students who need a total AFS space over 500MB must fill out a Quota Increase form and deliver it to the OIT Help Desk (room 128 DeBartolo). All increases are subject to system administrator approval.
