Installing DAVE 6.1 for Mac OSX
- Insert the Dave CD and double-click on the "Install DAVE 6.1" icon.
- If you have a previous version of Dave on your computer, double-click on the Uninstall icon and follow the on-screen instructions before proceeding to step #3.
- In the DAVE 6.1 window, double-click on Install to begin the installation.

- Click Continue when asked if you are sure you want to continue.
- Click Continue at the Introduction screen.
- Click Continue at the Read Me screen and again at the Software License Agreement.
- Click Agree when prompted.
- Select your Macintosh HD as your destination and click Continue.
- Click Install to begin the installation.
- In the Authenticate window, enter your administrative username and password and click OK.

- The installer will copy the files and configure the installation.
- Click Close when you receive confirmation that the software has been installed successfully.
- You will again be prompted for your administrator name and password. Enter them and click OK.
- The Dave Setup Assistant will run. Click Continue.
- Uncheck the option to Use Windows Server. Click Continue.
- You will be asked to Configure Computer Name. Give the computer a unique name up to 15 characters long and click Continue.
- In the Workgroup field, enter ADND and click Continue.
- Optionally, you may enter a Computer Description. Click Continue.
- Once Dave has started, click the Continue button.
- Make sure the Don't set up DAVE sharing option is selected and click Continue.
- At the Register Online prompt, click Continue. Your copy of DAVE is already registered under a University site license.
- Click Quit at the Conclusion to finish.
Mapping NetFile Volumes Using DAVE
- From your Go menu, select Connect To Server….

- In the Connect to Server window, for the Server Address, type the address as you see it below, substituting your own NetID in place of ~mynetid and click Connect.
Example: smb://fs.nd.edu/~mynetid
- In the Connect to the file server “fs.nd.edu” as: window, enter your NetID and password. Make sure that the Domain field reads ADND. Click Connect.

- Your NetFile volume should appear on your desktop.

- To map to another's NetFile Public space, follow steps 1-4 above substituting the other NetID per the example below.
Example: smb://fs.nd.edu/~othernetid/Public
