NetFile - Map a Drive on Windows 2000/XP
- Open My Computer, go to the Tools menu, and select Map Network Drive. Windows will automatically assign the next available drive letter, but you may choose a different drive letter from the drop-down menu to suit your taste (we suggest using N:).
- In the Folder field, type the following path, substituting your own
NetID where our example gives asmith:
\\fs.nd.edu\~asmith

- Now, click on the link to Connect using a different user name.
- For your user name, enter: adnd\asmith (again, use your own
NetID) and enter your Notre Dame password.

- Click OK.
- You may choose whether or not to automatically reconnect to this drive at logon using the checkbox provided.
- Click Finish to complete the drive mapping.
You can now find your NetFile drive by opening My Computer. The drive letter is displayed last in the description, similar to: ~asmith on fs.nd.edu (N:)
