Using Your Spam Quarantine at Notre Dame
Please note: the spam quarantine web site supports on the following web browsers: Internet Explorer 6+, Firefox 1.5+, Mozilla 1.7+. Other browsers may experience problems.
- Log in at https://myspam.nd.edu with your NetID and password and click on the Quarantine tab.

- You’ll be presented with a list of messages that have been quarantined. Most of them will be spam messages, but it is possible some will be legitimate emails.
As you add senders to your allow list, you will see fewer and fewer of these “false positives.”
NOTE:
It may be necessary to press the Refresh button at the top right of the quarantine summary list AND the Reload button of your browser to ensure you are viewing the most current list of messages. - Look over the list carefully. If you see any legitimate messages, select them by placing a check in their check box. You may preview any message within the quarantine by clicking on the subject line if you are unsure about it.
- You will want to release these legitimate messages to your email by selecting one of these three choices from the Release drop down menu:
- If you wish for message(s) from this/these sender(s) to not be quarantined in the future, from the pull down menu, select “and allow future messages from sender”
- If you wish for messages from anyone at the sender’s domain (e.g. purdue.edu, domain.com, etc.) to not be quarantined in the future, choose “and allow future messages from sender’s domain”
- If you’d like to allow just this particular occurrence of the message, select ”but don’t add to allow-list”
- If you wish for message(s) from this/these sender(s) to not be quarantined in the future, from the pull down menu, select “and allow future messages from sender”
| NOTE: If you have legitimate messages that fall into more than one of the above three categories, you’ll have to select them in groups rather than choose them all at once to apply the appropriate “allow” directions for each group. We do not recommend using the “and allow future messages to recipient(s)” option in this context. If there is a specific Listserv address to which messages you receive are regularly sent, you should add that address to your allow list in the Mail Processing section of myspam.nd.edu. |
- Once you have released the legitimate emails, you may now delete the remaining messages. Check the box to the left of the From column header. This will select all of the remaining messages at once.

- Click the Delete button to delete the selected messages.
(Messages older than 30 days will automatically be deleted.)
