VNC Remote Support Tool for Mac OS X

User’s Guide

NOTE: It is recommended you remove the older version of VNC prior to installing the latest version.

How to install the VNC Remote Support Tool on a Mac OS X machine:

  1. Click HERE to download the VNC Remote Support Tool for Mac OS X. (NetID & Password required)
  2. Click SAVE and save the file to the Desktop.
  3. Locate the VNC installer icon on the Desktop, then double-click the icon to start the installation.

    Note: When installation is complete, an OSXvnc window should automatically open displaying an OSXvnc icon. If the window does not automatically display, double-click on the OSXvnc drive.

  4. From the OSXvnc window, drag the OSXvnc icon to the desktop.

How to run OSXvnc:

  1. Double-click the OSXvnc icon. A dialog box will display similar to the one shown below.

  2. Within the dialog box, click Start Server.
  3. In the Connect Host field, type the IP address of the computer you are connecting to.
  4. Click ADD.

How to Quit OSXvnc Remote:

  • Click the Stop Server button.
OR
  • Choose Quit from the OSXvnc menu bar.
