Publishing a Personal Web Site
*** Please note: Sensitive information (such as social security numbers, credit card data, FERPA protected data, or HIPAA protected data) should NEVER be published on the web!!!!! ***
When your personal NetID was created, you also were granted rights to publish a personal web space from either your personal NetFile or AFS space. By default, all NetIDs created after May 1, 2007 use the NetFile www folder for publishing web sites. NetIDs created prior to May 1, 2007 point to the AFS www folder by default. It is recommended that all personal web sites use NetFile space to publish web sites to ensure the highest levels of reliability. To ensure that your web site is published from your NetFile www folder, do the following:
Ensuring your personal web site is published from NetFile:
- Login to EDS with your NetID and password at: https://eds.nd.edu/login
- Click on the Edit button at the top left of the screen.
- In the Preferred Website Location field, select the NetFile option from the drop-down menu.
- Scroll back to the top and choose Save Changes.
