Using WebFile to Publish Your Web Site in Dreamweaver

Important Note: You must be using either Dreamweaver MX 2004 or Dreamweaver 8 to use Secure FTP (SFTP). If you are using Dreamweaver MX or lower, please upgrade.

1. In Dreamweaver, go to the Site menu, and select Manage Sites.
2. Select your site from the list, and click the Edit button.
3. On the Advanced tab, select the Remote Info category on the left.
   
4. On the right side of the dialog, configure the following settings:
   1. Access: FTP
   2. FTP host: webfile.nd.edu
   3. Host directory: the folder path to your web site (e.g., /users/n/ndoit/NetFile/www/ )
      The folder path to your web site will be in the following format:
      /users/<first letter of NetID>/<NetID>/<preferred shared file space>/www/
   • Please note: the path is case sensitive!
   4. Login: the NetID you use to edit the site (e.g., asmith2)
   5. Password: the password for the NetID
   6. Check the box for Use Secure FTP (SFTP)
5. Click the Test button to make sure you can connect to the site successfully.
6. Click the OK button.
