Using WebFile to Publish Your Web Site in Dreamweaver
Important Note: You must be using either Dreamweaver MX 2004 or Dreamweaver 8 to use Secure FTP (SFTP). If you are using Dreamweaver MX or lower, please upgrade.
- In Dreamweaver, go to the Site menu, and select Manage Sites.
- Select your site from the list, and click the Edit button.
- On the Advanced tab, select the Remote Info category on the left.
- On the right side of the dialog, configure the following settings:
- Access: FTP
- FTP host: webfile.nd.edu
- Host directory: the folder path to your web site (e.g., /users/n/ndoit/NetFile/www/ )
The folder path to your web site will be in the following format:
/users/<first letter of NetID>/<NetID>/<preferred shared file space>/www/ - Please note: the path is case sensitive!
- Login: the NetID you use to edit the site (e.g., asmith2)
- Password: the password for the NetID
- Check the box for Use Secure FTP (SFTP)
- Click the Test button to make sure you can connect to the site successfully.
- Click the OK button.
