What is WebEx and what can it do for me?

WebEx is the industry leader in providing a suite of tools that allow you to collaboratively work with people across the world using on-demand web meetings. The OIT has negotiated the availability of WebEx’s point-to-point and multi-point video and audio conferencing and online collaboration tools. For a modest fee, WebEx brings to Notre Dame an alternative to
room-based meetings, seminars and special events. Special applications hosted on WebEx servers offer the ability to hold audio or videoconferences while sharing documents, graphics, or even your entire computer desktop with participants.

You can conduct a WebEx session through one of three WebEx services: Meeting Center, Training Center and Event Center. All you need is a computer with a Web browser and a highspeed connection to the Internet.The OIT has purchased the WebEx Enterprise version that provides you with the following WebEx products:

Meeting Center

Meeting Center enables you to host meetings with participants at remote locations via the Web . You can share applications, view presentations, review and revise documents, and discuss issues in real time using an Internet connection. See a demo of Meeting Center.

Training Center

Training Center is an online classroom that Notre Dame can use to provide instruction to people anywhere in the world. All that is required is a high-speed connection to the Internet and a Web browser. Using interactive, media-rich online instructions, you can present information and quiz, poll, and test

Event Center

Event Center allows you to stage online events as if you were there in person. ou can share documents, presentations, and applications in real time.
