On Tuesday, Dec. 7, the Office of Information Technologies received reports of issues affecting some Notre Dame services hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS).

AWS engineers are still investigating these issues and are working to resolve them. Several ND services that have been reported as slow or unavailable include:

  • AWS AppStream: This is used to access software applications such as the Event Management System (EMS), OnBase Unity Client, Titanium, Campus Dining and Food Management System (FMS)
  • Virtual Computer Labs
  • Vendor-hosted services/applications (e.g., Panopto, Canvas, Emma, Code42/CrashPlan, etc.)
  • Websites: Some affected websites may be slow or unreachable

Though AWS has not announced when the issues will be resolved, OIT system engineers will continue to monitor ND services. The OIT will send updates as needed and an email notification when affected services are restored.

Additional information on the AWS issue is available on many news sites.
