As students begin the experience of taking classes online, the Office of Information Technologies (OIT) has a few important reminders for you.

Adobe Creative Cloud—Free Until May 31, 2020

Adobe is offering its Creative Cloud applications at no cost to students until Sunday, May 31, 2020. You must follow these instructions for downloading Adobe apps in order to take advantage of this offer. 

Acrobat Reader is currently available for students to download on the OIT Software Downloads page, and will remain free for students even after May 31, 2020. You will be required to provide your NetID and password to download Acrobat Reader.

Software Downloads

If you need to download software applications in order to complete your coursework, visit the OIT Software Downloads page. You will be required to provide your NetID and password in order to download any software licensed for students. 

  • In the “Software for” dropdown, select “Students.” 

  • From the “Operating System” dropdown, select the operating system for your device.

If you need software that is not listed on the OIT Software Downloads page, check with your instructor. As additional titles are approved for student use, more software applications will be added to this page.

Also, the OIT is finalizing a way for you to use a computer lab machine remotely so that you can access even more software titles. Your instructor will have details about remote use of the computer labs later this week.

Sakai Best Practices—Time Zone and Profile Picture

To ensure you meet course deadlines, you should match your time zone in Sakai to your local time zone. Please read the instructions on setting your time zone in Sakai.

If you don’t currently have a picture in your Sakai profile, now would be a good time to add one. This will help both your professors and classmates recognize you. Please read the instructions for uploading your profile picture in Sakai.
