Zoom Security Requirement Postponed
Zoom has postponed the required security enhancement originally scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27 until sometime in November. Once in place, any meeting that doesn't contain a passcode or waiting room will automatically be assigned a waiting room.
The OIT recommends you review your scheduled meetings without passcodes before November so you can update them. You can do so by logging into the Zoom web portal (zoom.nd.edu). These meetings are listed in the Meetings tab and indicated by a red exclamation point with a circle around it. Just follow these guidelines for adding a passcode or waiting room to those meetings:…

Run Eduroam Setup Utility Now to Maintain WiFi Connectivity on Campus
The eduroam certificate will expire at the end of this year. In order to reduce impact during the academic year, the Office of Information Technologies (OIT) will update this certificate on Monday, July 13 at 5:30 p.m.

Zoom Password Requirement Now in Effect
As a result of the update by OIT Zoom administrators, passwords are required for meetings created after June 13. Meetings that were entered into the calendar before 8 a.m. on June 13 are NOT affected.
When you schedule a meeting, the meeting password will now be automatically added to the invitation and securely embedded in the URL of the meeting. No other action is required.…

Update on Zoom Upgrade
On Monday, May 18, OIT system administrators pushed out the Zoom 5.0 client upgrade to all University-owned (managed) Windows and Mac computers that had not already installed it.
Effective Saturday, May 30, all managed and unmanaged computers must have the Zoom 5.0 client installed. A new encryption will be activated in Zoom version 5.0 and above for additional security. Any Zoom software older than Zoom 5.0 must be upgraded before you can join a meeting/class after May 30.…
