NetFile Storage Migration in Final Phase

Author: Lenette Votava

The Office of Information Technologies (OIT) is in the final phase of the NetFile transition plan. This plan includes the relocation of all files stored in your individual NetFile storage space to Google Drive.

As part of this transition, the NetFile migration tool is no longer available. In preparation for the final migration, OIT file storage administrators will begin relocating all remaining files in NetFile beginning Tuesday, July 17.

This means that your current individual files will be copied from NetFile to Google Drive in a folder called “Migrated_From_NetFile.” NOTE: When you see it appear in Google Drive, do not modify, move, or rename this folder or any files within it until you are notified the final migration is complete.

As the file migration progresses, here are some guidelines to follow until the final file migration is complete:

  • Between July 17 and July 31, you may continue to work with your files in your individual NetFile storage space.
  • Starting August 1, access to your individual NetFile storage space will be removed and any new or modified files from there will be copied to the “Migrated_From_NetFile” folder in your Google Drive.
  • Once the final migration of your files is complete, you will receive an email message and may begin working with those files in Google Drive.
