Get go.nd.edu/ndmobileapp on-the-go access to campus information including maps, dining menus, news, video, sports highlights and more! The ND Mobile app is available for iOS and Android devices, and at m.nd.edu.

Canvas

Canvas is the online environment designed to facilitate teaching and learning at Notre Dame. The use of Canvas enables instructors to create and deliver course materials and learning activities to support academic collaborations. Go to go.nd.edu/canvasqrg for a quick reference guide.

Innovation Hub

The Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) Innovation Hub facilitates faculty and administrative requests to evaluate, research, and explore established and emerging technologies in consideration of appropriate University support and relevant oversight. We support your request for a new academic software or Canvas LTI integration by ensuring compatibility into Notre Dame’s technology ecosystem. We invite you to consult with us to learn more about the TLT Innovation Hub. We facilitate faculty incentive grants to pilot new technologies or integrations, and can assist, partner, and/or lead in the procurement of extramural funding to promote pedagogical innovation with technology and improve student success. go.nd.edu/innovationhub

Gradescope

This online tool integrates with Canvas and saves time when grading assignments or exams. Whether it's paper-based, online or programming assignments, Gradescope digitizes the grading process so instructors can return feedback quickly and efficiently. go.nd.edu/gradescope

Classroom Technology

All Registrar-managed classrooms are equipped with a lectern that includes:

  • One or more displays with an HDMI connector and various video adapters
  • Desktop Computer with Dual Monitors
  • PowerPoint remote with red laser pointer
  • Touch panel control to switch sources, adjust audio, etc.
  • Phone in the room to call technical support
  • Larger classrooms are equipped with wireless microphones for voice amplification
  • You can also check out AV equipment for use in the classroom from the Service Desk in 115 DeBartolo Hall.

Software for Classroom Use

Teaching and Learning with Zoom

Zoom is the preferred Notre Dame audio, video, and web conferencing service, and is available at no cost. It can be used for teaching and recording classes as well as meeting with students and colleagues.

Lecture Capture with Panopto

Panopto is the university's enterprise-wide video content management system. It offers a secure portal to host and share video content, as well as easy-to-use software. Faculty can record, edit, share, or reuse videos in their courses. go.nd.edu/panopto

The Navari Family Center for Digital Scholarship (NFCDS) offers access to digital scholarship expertise, technologies, and technology-enriched collaborative spaces in support of the ND community's research and scholarship needs. Computer Labs and Virtual Computer Labs

Many campus computer labs will continue to be available with some adjustments to the number of computers available based on physical distancing requirements.

In addition, the virtual computer lab gives faculty and students remote access to software applications typically used in a Notre Dame computer lab. The virtual computer lab is accessible from any computer (Chromebook, Macs, and Windows) using any current browser window. If you or your students prefer to install software directly on a computer, the OIT Software Downloads page contains a list of software applications available for downloading.

Work with your departmental IT support staff to get the latest version of any of the supported software applications.
