Notre Dame Has Gone Dell! 💻

Notre Dame is excited to announce that Dell is the new Strategic Partner for PCs, replacing Lenovo. This change took place in August 2024. Additionally, the Campus Workstation Program (CWP) will leverage a new partnership with CDW to source all Windows and Apple machines.

What is changing?

  • Any new Campus Workstation Program (CWP) PCs or departmentally purchased PCs will need to be Dell.

  • All PCs will be procured through our vendor, CDW.

For Students:

  • Students can continue to bring the laptop of their choice to campus.
  • For additional information on the laptops recommended by the University, please visit this OIT Knowledge Base article.
  • Grant funding purchases will be made through the student's department.

Why the change?

  • Lenovo's contract was up for renewal, allowing the opportunity to explore additional vendors. Assists with the University's endeavor to enhance our asset management strategy.

  • Partnering with a single distributor allows seamless integration with the University’s procurement and technology systems.

What's in it for you?

  • A new Dell marketplace will be available through buyND+ for purchasing monitors, docking stations, and additional Dell-branded peripherals.

  • Dell models provide an additional 1.5 hours of battery life and are .5 pounds lighter than our current Lenovos.

  • Partnering with a single distributor enables seamless integration with procurement and technology systems to improve lifecycle management, information security, and support.
