Building Switch Upgrade Project
The University will replace roughly 1700 network switches in 170 campus buildings. This work will require each building to temporarily disconnect from the network. The project is scheduled for completion by August 2026.
What is the benefit?

Upgrades will take place during regular business hours: buildings will be temporarily offline and unable to connect to wifi or any other network device

These upgrades modernize and strengthen Notre Dame’s network infrastructure, replacing outdated hardware and reducing maintenance requirements and outage risks.

Upgrades will improve speed, reliability, and security and support future technology needs across campus
